I took on a design job last year and at the time it was just another job - a great job to work on designing a book called "Your Planet Needs You" which is a handbook for creating the world that we want, the book invites you to take action to stand up and speak out, and that every one of us can start to make a difference to the way we live on the planet and to start to change things for the better. http://www.yourplanetneedsyou.org
Designing it has certainly made a difference to my life and as a professional designer feel proud to be involved in such a world changing project. This book will certainly instigate social change. It is well worth the £9.95 price, here is a recent review:

This is no run-of-the-mill ‘let’s save the world from climate chaos’ book (and website). Instead of the seen-that/done-that lists (turn off the tap when you brush your teeth, turn out lights when you leave the room, yawn yawn) Your Planet Needs You takes a more philosophical approach. I read the book yesterday and was truly moved. I may just be getting sentimental in my old age, but I believe this book speaks to the best part of each of us, and if you’re in the right frame of mind it may inspire you to strive to be a kinder person, a more empathetic neighbour, a more valuable inhabitant of this magnificent planet we call home.

One of the core questions is ‘Can we save the human race from itself?’ It’s an interesting question and the jury’s still out, but we surely must give it our best shot. If we each take some responsibility for our actions and our impact on the planet, we might be in with a chance. The book explores simple principles of living well, and encourages a new respect for nature. It asks us to re-examine our obsession with overconsumption in today’s world of excess, and to re-think our mistreatment of the planet and its fragile (and limited) resources. It’s an enjoyable read as well, with snappy design and beautiful illustrations from a host of artists and illustrators. On the website you can learn more about how to take action, find out about the not-for-profit Your Planet Needs You Foundation and its projects and of course, buy the book and postcards!

Apple has always been innovative with it's publicity. This goes back to it's roots in the 80's. While other competing companies fumble to make semi-decent advertising schemes, they excel with these excellent commercials.

Look at the portable music player market. I have never seen a commercial for any of it's competitors, outside of the Zune. I am not questioning the quality of the devices they make, but their publicity efforts go a very long way.

I like them too, but this is a remix and I think it's a bit repetitive.

Woah, that vid is so visually interesting! Although I didn't really get the music (lol, probably because I was so focused on the graphics) it was still great. I love how they integrated the whole water cycle and fast food thing, oh man it's educating me... lol!
